This study uses James Gunn’s Superman (2025) as a lens to explore Romans 6:17-18, where Paul says we become “slaves of righteousness.” Superman learns that his biological parents had a dark vision for him to rule Earth, but instead he chooses the selfless, kind values he learned from the Kents. This moment of choosing virtue over power reflects how Christians reject sin and live for righteousness. Superman’s journey mirrors the Christian path of sanctification – the lifelong process of becoming more like Christ.
